Janet Steinberg’s Travel Authority Blog received a Lowell Thomas Award on October 5, 2021 at the SATW (Society of American Travel Writers) Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was Steinberg’s 5th Lowell Thomas Award. The SATW Foundation’s Lowell Thomas Awards are recognized as the most prestigious in travel journalism. This 37th competition drew 1,278 entries for work from spring 2020 to spring 2021. The University of Missouri School of Journalism oversaw the judging.
Steinberg’s Travel Authority Blog also received a 1st Place Mark Twain Award on October 20, 2021 at the MTJA (Midwest Travel Journalists Association) Conference in Sanibel Florida. Judge’s Comments were: Whether it’s exploring the highlights of California, walking through Arlington Cemetery, or visiting the beaches of Normandy, Janet Steinberg quickly crystallizes what readers want to read about.
