My vast industry experience of over 35 years has given me extensive experience and knowledge in planning vacations. During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to over 70 countries, many of them several times, and I’ve cruised more than 130 times on most of the major cruise lines. In addition to this, I’ve also owned and operated own travel agency and now I’m a Manager of Leisure Travel for The Travel Authority. To help share my knowledge of the travel industry with those interested in a career in the travel industry, I taught at a travel school for about 20 years, focusing on learning about destinations, navigating supplier brochures and helping new agents find the best rates for the best travel vacation. Knowing that travel was going to be my lifelong career, I graduated from college with a B.S. (Bachelor of Science) in Business Administration and an AA (Associate Arts) in Transportation. To further my knowledge and build a solid foundation for myself, I also graduated from Universal Travel School in Miami Florida with an AA degree in Travel.
Some of my industry certifications include The Travel Institute’s Certified Travel Counselor (CTC), Cruise Line International Association’s (CLIA) Master Cruise Counselor (MCC) and Certified Sandals Specialist (CSS). Additionally, I’ve completed specialist supplier training courses including Viking Cruise Specialist, Disney Specialist, Uniworld Cruise Specialist, American Express Gold Card certification as well as many more.
